Effective Board Management – Strategies for Senior Executives

Corporate governance is entering one of its most demanding eras. Boards in 2026 face a convergence of rising risk, regulatory pressure, geopolitical uncertainty, and accelerated technological change – all of which are reshaping what effective oversight requires. For senior executives who interact with, report to, or aspire to boards, understanding the current board management landscape is both a strategic imperative and a career differentiator.

This session explores the forces most actively reshaping boardroom agendas today: AI governance and oversight, CEO succession and leadership pipelines, rising shareholder activism, cybersecurity accountability, and the fiduciary-first pivot in ESG.

We will examine how the executive–board relationship is evolving, what makes an executive effective in the boardroom, and the disciplines that distinguish high-impact board reporting.

You’ll leave this session with sharper perspectives on what boards now expect of senior executives – and practical ideas you can apply immediately, whether you’re already engaging with your board, preparing to, or advising leaders who do.
