AI-ready is not the same as agent-ready.

At our recent EGN Digital Transformation Leadership Virtual Event, members explored what changes when AI moves beyond assisting people and starts taking action on their behalf.

The discussion went beyond AI models and tools, focusing on what it takes to integrate AI agents into the way organisations actually deliver work.

Key Takeaways:

  • 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 : Define who can delegate, who makes decisions, and who owns the outcome.

  • 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 : Not every task requires the same level of AI autonomy. Human judgement remains essential, particularly where risk and complexity are higher.

  • 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 : Move beyond experimentation and focus on where AI can create meaningful and sustainable impact.

  • 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 : As AI agents expand, organisations need to consider governance, people, processes, technology, and economics.

A sincere thank you to Jakub Wachocki and Steven Nunez, EGN Singapore Chairs, for facilitating such an engaging discussion and bringing together diverse perspectives on the future of AI-enabled delivery.

Thank you to all our EGN members and participants for the thoughtful questions, experiences, and open exchange throughout the session.

AI is already changing how work gets delivered. The next challenge is designing the human + agent operating model around it.

At EGN, we believe better leaders and better decisions are built through meaningful conversations with the right peers.

We look forward to more meaningful conversations, connections and learning together. 💙
