Mastering Complex Crisis Management and Crisis Communication – An Executive Sharing

Crises and effective crisis management and communication are by no means new topics. However, the increasing frequency and complexity of crises today, shaped by VUCA and BANI environments, are adding a new dimension to how organizations must respond and adapt.

In this session, Michael Adick will explore how established frameworks such as the Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) by Dr. Timothy Coombs and the 4R Framework for Crisis Communication by Robert Heath provide structured and effective approaches to managing multiple crises simultaneously. Drawing on real-world experience at a leading global automotive company, the session will examine crisis levels, from disruptive to catastrophic, and outline appropriate response mechanisms.

Michael will also challenge conventional thinking by highlighting how crises are often misinterpreted internally, while in reality, their perception, impact, and required responses are shaped externally. In addition, the session will explore the growing role of AI in helping organizations better prepare for, respond to, and recover from crises.

This session will distill the complexity into practical, actionable frameworks, equipping leaders with the tools to navigate crisis environments with clarity, confidence, and resilience.
