From Emissions to Environmental Commodities: Inside the Markets that Power Corporate Decarbonization
In this virtual session, Aymeric de Condé will unpack the link between corporate emissions and the fast-growing markets built around them. The presentation will start with the basics. what environmental commodities are, what Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions mean in practice, and how companies actually measure their footprint and set decarbonization targets.
From there, Aymeric will explore what “carbon exposure” looks like for different types of businesses, regulatory risk, cost risk, and reputational risk. He will then show how instruments such as renewable energy certificates, carbon credits, and other environmental commodities have become key tools for managing that exposure and supporting credible decarbonization strategies.
The session will also give a pragmatic look at how these products are sourced and traded globally, what quality and integrity really mean in this market, and how corporates can engage without getting lost in jargon or greenwashing. The tone is practical, market driven and built on real use cases from Aymeric’s work with corporates across the continents.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Aymeric de Condé, Head of APAC, STRIVE by STX
Aymeric de Condé is a seasoned environmental commodities professional with extensive global experience across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. He began his career in New York, where he supported corporates in navigating the North American environmental commodities markets. In 2020, he relocated to Europe to help build the Climate Action division and lead the Wholesale Carbon Trading desk at Vertis Environmental Finance, later acquired by STX Group in 2021.
Over the years, Aymeric has advised Fortune 500 companies and global market leaders on strategies to manage carbon exposure and achieve ambitious decarbonization goals. Today, as Head of APAC for Strive by STX, he leads the group’s efforts across the region, helping corporates accelerate their climate action through innovative market-based renewable energy and carbon solutions tailored to the unique challenges of Asia-Pacific markets.
